Make a Connection With Clients Online

Your therapist website is the first connection a client can make with you. These days, most clients will go right to the computer and Google your name. They want to know what you look like, what you have to say, what your approach and experience is. They are looking for a connection. You want the first experience they have with you to be memorable – its an experience that you can’t miss out on!

This is your opportunity to capture the essence of you and your therapeutic presence onscreen. The images used in your website can evoke the feel you are attempting to create. The colors, tone, feel…are all a part of it. The content should reflect your presence as a therapist, it should match what you say in session, and have the same feel. There are website builders out there that generate content for you – don’t use them! If a client comes to you based on the image they receive from your website, and what they get in the room is different, they may not come back!.

It used to be that the first phone call was the beginning of the therapeutic relationship because that was the first connective experience a client had with you. There is now a step before that. The first connection is made as a potential client reds through your therapist website. If they feel a connection to you and your work, they will call. If your content speaks to the struggles they are going through, and your approach at healing matches their authenticity, they will call.

Creating Websites for Therapists has become an artistic journey for me.

I deeply enjoy the process of discovering a therapists niche, presence, and authentic truth and helping to bring that substance and vision to life. I am a therapist myself and the founder and director of a group practice in New York, NY called Midtown Marriage and Family Therapy, PC. Our passion is providing a space for therapist in training to develop  into their own voice and presence. I spent may years marketing my own practice and have built numerous websites to support our work. One day, I realized that showcasing therapists online feed a creative and nurturing part I have and matches my passion to help therapists develop and thrive in practice. So I have added website design into my work and I deeply enjoy the process.
